How is an AdWords account structured?
There are three levels in an account of the Standard Version of Google AdWords account, campaign and ad groups. The diagram below shows the account structure and the settings that apply to each level. In summary: Your account is associated with a unique email address, a password and billing information.
At the campaign, You determine the daily budget, geographic targeting, preferences for dissemination on partner sites and end dates. At the ad group, you can create ads, choose keywords and select a cost per click (CPC) for an entire group or for certain keywords.
Within each ad group, you create one or more ads and set a set of keywords to associate with them. Each ad group and depends on a set of keywords. If you create multiple ads in an ad group, they are displayed alternately on a regular cycle for these keywords.
By logging into your account, you can check the clickthrough rate (CTR) of your ads. If a particular ad recorded lower performance than other (lower CTR), you can delete or modify to improve the overall performance of the ad group to which it belongs.
